Jodeci

Jodeci is an American music group active since 1989, performing R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae. This concert brings the group to San Francisco for a live show at The Masonic.

Jodeci formed in the late 1980s and has been active since 1989. The group recorded for Uptown Records and released its first album, Forever My Lady, in 1991. Its members have included DeVante Swing, Mr. Dalvin, K-Ci Hailey and JoJo Hailey, and their vocal harmonies and R&B-based sound have shaped the group's identity across its releases.

The music draws on several traditions at once: contemporary R&B and soul, funk grooves, gospel-rooted singing and reggae influences. Their catalog is built around close vocal arrangements and mid-tempo songs that balance romance and rhythm, which is the foundation of their stage repertoire.

The Masonic hosts concerts and shows in San Francisco. The evening suits listeners who follow 1990s R&B and new jack swing, and those interested in group vocal performance. Jodeci's appearance on this visit to San Francisco offers a chance to hear the music of one of the best-documented vocal groups of its era performed in person.
