Louis Armstrong Tribute

A jazz tribute concert in Washington honoring Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra, with their best-known songs performed by a live band at DC Comedy Loft and Bier Baron Tavern.

This is a tribute, not a performance by Louis Armstrong or Frank Sinatra. Armstrong, born in New Orleans, was a trumpeter and singer whose work helped shape jazz in the 20th century, and Sinatra was a singer whose recordings became central to American popular song. The program, billed as a Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong tribute, reworks the repertoire of both artists for a live band.

The set list described for the evening includes Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon" and Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World," presented in new arrangements. The organizers frame the evening as a way to recognize both men's influence on music and on American culture more broadly, with jazz as the common thread.

The show takes place at DC Comedy Loft and Bier Baron Tavern, a venue in Washington that hosts concerts and shows. It suits listeners who want to hear standards from these two figures played live by a band rather than in recorded form.
