Mad World 80s New Wave Synthpop Dance Party

A dance party in Long Beach devoted to 1980s new wave and synthpop, held at Alex's Bar, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in the city.

Mad World 80s New Wave Synthpop Dance Party is built around 1980s new wave and synthpop, the synthesizer-driven pop that defined much of the decade's dance floors. The title places the night squarely within that sound, from its synth textures to its danceable rhythms.

The evening suits anyone who enjoys the music of the 1980s and wants to dance to it, whether they remember the records from the first time around or discover them now. Its appeal rests on the era's style and the dancing it invites. Listeners who follow the genre will recognize its core sounds, while newcomers can hear how the style shaped the dance music that followed.

The night takes place at Alex's Bar, which hosts concerts and shows in Long Beach. The party sits alongside the live programming the venue already presents, with the decade's sound as its central theme.
