Pretty Boy Floyd

Pretty Boy Floyd and Jetboy play a rock double bill at Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, with both acts coming out of the Los Angeles rock scene of the 1980s.

Pretty Boy Floyd is a rock band from Los Angeles, formed in the mid-1980s and fronted by vocalist Taime Downe. The band's debut album, Leather Boyz with Electric Toys, was released in 1989. The bill also features Jetboy, another Los Angeles act from the same era, so the evening pairs two groups that emerged from the city's club circuit at the same time.

Whisky A Go Go opened on the Sunset Strip in 1964 and has since hosted concerts and shows. Its long association with rock music makes it a fitting room for a night of 1980s-rooted bands, and the club's location in West Hollywood places it at the center of the Strip's live music history.

The night suits listeners who follow Los Angeles rock from the 1980s onward, and anyone interested in how the Sunset Strip scene shaped its bands. Both acts are rooted in that tradition, so the program offers a chance to hear two groups from the same local scene on one bill.
