Pretty Lights (18+) - 11/19

Pretty Lights is an electronic music project from Colorado whose production is built on sampling and remixing, with clear roots in hip-hop, funk and soul. The project's tracks rework recorded material into groove-driven arrangements that move between dance-floor pulse and slower, downtempo passages. It has released its music through its own label and has built a following through studio albums and touring.

The Fox Theater in Oakland hosts concerts and shows throughout the year, and this engagement brings the project to the venue for a run of performances. Admission is limited to ages 18 and over, so the audience is adults who want a dedicated electronic music night.

Listeners who already know the project's sample-based records will recognize the same approach in concert, where the music is presented as a live electronic set. Those new to Pretty Lights can start with the studio catalog to get a sense of the sound before attending.
