Tyla

An electronic concert by Tyla, the South African singer-songwriter, at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Tyla's music brings together contemporary R&B, amapiano and pop.

Tyla is a South African singer-songwriter born in 2002 in Edenvale. Active since 2019, Tyla works across contemporary R&B, amapiano and pop, and this show is presented in the electronic genre, a field where amapiano's rhythms and pop songwriting meet.

Tyla's debut album, TYLA, was released in 2024 on Epic Records. It is the reference point for the project's recorded sound and the first full-length statement under the artist's own name, which makes it the clearest guide to what a Tyla concert draws on.

The Fox Theater in Oakland hosts concerts and shows, and this date brings Tyla's work to the East Bay. The evening suits listeners who follow contemporary R&B, amapiano and pop and want to hear a South African artist whose sound has moved from local roots to an international release.
