Shpongle - 10/30

Electronic music concerts by Shpongle, the psychedelic project of Simon Posford and Raja Ram, at the Fox Theater in Oakland, with Mindex, Cosmic Trigger and Supersillyus also on the bill.

Shpongle is an electronic act formed by Simon Posford and Raja Ram, and it has released psychedelic electronic music since the late 1990s. Its debut album, Are You Shpongled?, appeared in 1998 and established the layered, sample-rich sound the project has continued to develop. Listeners who follow psychedelic electronica and psytrance will recognize the project's emphasis on evolving textures over long arrangements.

This engagement at the Fox Theater in Oakland runs over several dates, with Shpongle headlining alongside Mindex, Cosmic Trigger and Supersillyus, who are also named on the bill. The evenings suit fans of electronic and psychedelic music who want to hear the project's recorded work performed live.

The Fox Theater in Oakland hosts concerts and shows, so the program sits within a venue that books a range of live music and theater. The city of Oakland is the setting for these performances, and the bill draws on several artists working in the electronic field.
