Thundercat: Distracted AF Tour

Thundercat brings the Distracted AF Tour to the Fox Theater in Oakland, with Fera also on the bill. The music draws on R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae.

Thundercat is a bassist and singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, long associated with the Brainfeeder label founded by Flying Lotus. The project's records move between funk, soul and R&B, with a bass-led approach and falsetto vocals. Two of its best-known albums are It Is What It Is (2015) and Drunk (2017), both built on the same blend of jazz-inflected grooves and smooth soul melodies.

The Distracted AF Tour brings this music to the Fox Theater in Oakland, with Fera also on the bill. Fera is the other artist named for this concert, and the evening is organized around Thundercat's catalog of soul, funk and R&B.

The Fox Theater is a historic theater on Telegraph Avenue in downtown Oakland, a venue that hosts concerts and shows throughout the year. The night suits listeners who follow the funk and soul threads in Thundercat's work, as well as those drawn to the gospel and reggae influences that appear in the project's sound.
