The Strawberry Alarm Clock

A concert by The Strawberry Alarm Clock, a rock band from the Southern California scene of the late 1960s, at Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood.

The Strawberry Alarm Clock is an American band from Southern California, formed in the late 1960s and associated with the psychedelic sound of that period. Its best-known single, "Incense and Peppermints," reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967. Guitarist Ed King, who later joined Lynyrd Skynyrd, was one of the group's members in its early years.

The act's music combines pop melodies with rock arrangements and the psychedelic textures of the sixties. The genre of this project is pop, rock and indie, so the repertoire spans the band's period recordings and the wider lineage of late-sixties American pop-rock.

Whisky A Go Go is a venue in West Hollywood that hosts concerts and shows. The evening suits listeners interested in the Los Angeles rock lineage of the 1960s and in a band whose best-known record dates from that era.
