Yonder Mountain String Band

Yonder Mountain String Band is a band from Colorado whose music spans pop, rock and indie. This concert brings the act to Space in Evanston.

Yonder Mountain String Band formed in Nederland, Colorado, in 1998, and has been active since then. The group grew out of bluegrass, with its acoustic string instruments at the core of its sound, and over the years its songwriting has moved toward rock and indie territory, alongside the improvisational style associated with the jam-band scene. The band has released a substantial catalog and has built a following through touring.

This concert presents the band's pop, rock and indie material to a Chicago-area audience. Space is a venue in Evanston that hosts concerts and shows, and the night suits listeners who follow the band's songs as well as those who know its bluegrass-based origins and its extended, improvised approach to playing live.
