Jamiroquai is a British acid jazz and funk band from London, formed in 1992 and fronted by the singer Jay Kay. Its sound also blends in alternative rock and pop. The group signed to Mercury Records and released its first album, Emergency on Planet Earth, in 1993. Later records include Travelling Without Moving (1996), which contained the single Virtual Insanity.

The O2 stands on Peninsula Square in London and mainly hosts concerts, with a programme centred on pop, rock and indie music. Its concert calendar therefore covers the kind of mainstream pop and rock acts that appear on large London stages.

For listeners, the evening offers the band's funk-led catalogue performed in one of the capital's largest concert venues. Anyone who knows Emergency on Planet Earth or Travelling Without Moving will recognise the band's blend of jazz-influenced grooves and pop songwriting.
