Overview
Potted Panto is a comedy show at the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, condensing seven classic pantomimes into one brief, fast-moving production for the festive season.
Potted Panto is a comedy in which a double act moves through some of the best-known stories from pantomime. According to the source, it covers seven classic pantomimes in around 70 minutes, with episodes drawn from Aladdin and his lamp, Dick Whittington's London and Cinderella's journey to the ball, all told in quick succession.
The show is staged at the Apollo Theatre, a theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue in the West End. The source describes it as the West End's longest-running pantomime and says it has returned due to popular demand. It has also been nominated for an Olivier Award.
The material presents the show as suitable for audiences of all ages, so it may suit a family outing, although its appeal rests on the speed and variety of its stories rather than on a single plot.
