A Charlie Brown Christmas w. Chris White Trio & Choir (Matinee)

A jazz concert built around the music of A Charlie Brown Christmas, performed by the Chris White Trio with a choir at Space in Evanston. The program draws on the score from the Peanuts holiday special.

The program centers on the score of A Charlie Brown Christmas, the 1965 animated television special based on Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts comic strip. That score was composed by Vince Guaraldi, a San Francisco pianist whose soundtrack recording from the special became a widely played holiday jazz album. This evening is a tribute to that music, presented by the Chris White Trio and a choir, and it does not feature Guaraldi on stage.

Space is a concert and show venue in Evanston, a suburb just north of Chicago. The event is a jazz program, so it suits listeners who want to hear the holiday score interpreted by a jazz trio alongside vocal performers.
