A Charlie Brown Christmas w. Chris White Trio & Choir (Early)

A jazz program built on Vince Guaraldi's score for the 1965 animated special A Charlie Brown Christmas, performed by Chris White Trio & Choir in Evanston.

A Charlie Brown Christmas is the jazz score Vince Guaraldi composed for the 1965 animated television special based on the Peanuts comic strip. Its jazz piano themes, led by the best-known piece, "Linus and Lucy," have become a fixture of the holiday season and are still widely recognized decades after the special first aired.

This program presents the music in a version by Chris White Trio & Choir. It is a performance of the score by this group, not an appearance by Guaraldi or his own trio, and it brings the choir into the holiday repertoire alongside the jazz arrangements.

Space hosts concerts and shows in Evanston, a city on Chicago's North Shore. The evening suits listeners who know the 1965 special and want its music performed live, with the choir and trio together.
