A Charlie Brown Christmas w. Kevin Fort Trio (Matinee)

A jazz program pairing the music of A Charlie Brown Christmas with the Kevin Fort Trio, presented at Space in Evanston. The concert is built around the Peanuts holiday special's score.

A Charlie Brown Christmas is the 1965 animated television special based on Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts comic strip. Its jazz score was composed by Vince Guaraldi, whose piece "Linus and Lucy" became one of the best-known tunes associated with the special. The score is a jazz work, and this concert places it in the hands of the Kevin Fort Trio, a jazz trio, so the program is a live jazz performance of that music rather than the original television soundtrack.

The evening takes place at Space, a venue in Evanston that hosts concerts and shows. Its listeners are drawn to jazz and to the Peanuts characters and their holiday story, and the program suits anyone who knows the special and wants to hear its music performed live by a trio.
