Overview
PokéPiano: Gotta play 'em all! is a piano program by Tyler Kivel, built around the Pokémon franchise. It is presented at The CheckOut in Chicago.
The title borrows the well-known slogan of the Pokémon franchise, the video game and animated series, and signals that the program centers on music from that world, played on the piano.
The evening is aimed at fans of Pokémon who want to hear familiar game and series melodies performed on piano, and at listeners who follow piano programs of video game music. Tyler Kivel is the performer named on the bill, and the title makes the franchise the organizing theme of the repertoire.
The CheckOut is a Chicago venue that hosts concerts and shows, so this piano program sits among the live performances it presents.
