A Charlie Brown Christmas w. Chris White Trio & Choir

A holiday jazz concert in Evanston by the Chris White Trio & Choir, with a title drawn from the animated Peanuts Christmas special.

A Charlie Brown Christmas is a jazz program by the Chris White Trio & Choir, pairing a jazz trio with a choir in a seasonal concert. The title refers to the 1965 animated television special based on the Peanuts comic strip, whose music was composed by Vince Guaraldi. Guaraldi's piano-led jazz score is the best-known music associated with that special, and the program's name points directly to that repertoire tradition.

The ensemble is named for its leader, Chris White, and its instrumentation is set out in the name itself: a trio combined with a choir. The concert is built around the holiday theme that the title announces, so the evening follows the season rather than a single album or tour.

Space hosts concerts and shows in Evanston. The program suits listeners who enjoy seasonal jazz, fans of the Peanuts special and its music, and anyone looking for a holiday concert with a choral element.
