Mother Soki + Girlfriend, Wife

A night with Mother Soki, the dream pop project celebrating the new album Act 2, with Girlfriend, Wife as the opening act, at 2220 Arts + Archives in Los Angeles.

Mother Soki works in dream pop, with a nostalgic pull toward the 1990s. The project names The Sundays, Imogen Heap and Cocteau Twins among its classic reference points. The night celebrates the new album Act 2, released on Mom & Pop Music.

The sound pairs modern takes on vintage synthesizers with heavy guitars and airy, spacious vocals. Mother Soki places these contrasting textures side by side and makes the combination feel natural rather than forced.

Pretty But Wicked presents the evening, with Girlfriend, Wife opening. The concert takes place at 2220 Arts + Archives, a concert and performance venue on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles.
