Overview

Nicolas Maldonado at 2220 Arts + Archives

2220 hosts All Hallows'Eve Eve Eve Eve Eve, a night of folk horror plumbed via ritual, performance and song, with SEEKERS, Tom Comitta (in a quartet with violist Emma Antonides, violinist Maya Irizarry and guitarist Lance Piebenga), and the collaborative duo of Nicolas Maldonado and Susana Pineda.

Before it was Halloween it was Samhain, a weeklong festival for the turn of the season, when the veil between worlds was said to thin. Come celebrate this threshold week with music and film at the edges of saying, dream, legibility, and horror.

SEEKERS (Jessica Hundley and Jed Maheu) invites the audience to pull three Major Arcana Tarot cards and turns them into song. Tom Comitta premieres Folk Horror, an album of classic horror stories, poems, and paranormal encounters set to folk music. Nicolas & Susana create immersive soundscapes inspired by nature’s beauty and mystery, blending vocals, saxophone, percussion, and electronics to evoke the spirit of nature, ethereal worlds and subtle rhythms.
