Telemakus *Eight Ring Revival* Album Release

A release show for Telemakus’ album Eight Ring Revival, presented at 2220 Arts + Archives in Los Angeles, with a live band and a roster of guest musicians.

Telemakus, a producer, composer and self-taught pianist, is presenting the release show for Eight Ring Revival, the album now out through Good Problem Studios. The record is described as a diary by a 26-year-old Indian-American artist, shaped by experimentation and by the people around the project.

The album grew out of a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which led to hyperextension in the fingers. Telemakus was instructed to wear eight silver rings on the finger joints at all times, and those rings became a route back to self-expression. With less control over instruments, the music was composed with the voice, the feet and memory, and by directing other players toward sounds that could no longer be reached by hand.

Guest contributors include Flying Lotus, Liv.e, Karriem Riggins of GENA, Sparklmami, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Nicole McCabe. On stage, the album is performed alongside a live band of musicians, at 2220 Arts + Archives, a concert and performance venue on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles.
