Overview
A tribute concert in Berwyn in which The Zimmermen perform music from The Last Waltz, the 1978 Martin Scorsese film about The Band's farewell concert.
The Zimmermen perform The Last Waltz, a program built around the 1978 Martin Scorsese film that documents The Band's farewell concert, staged in San Francisco in 1976. This is a tribute: The Zimmermen are not The Band, and the original group does not appear on stage.
The evening falls under film concerts and scores, a format in which the music of a film is performed live. The Band, the rock group at the center of the original concert, recorded albums including Music from Big Pink, released in 1968.
Fitzgeralds Nightclub, in Berwyn, hosts concerts and shows. The evening suits listeners who know The Band's catalogue or the Scorsese film and want to hear its music performed by a live group.
