Richard Thompson & Band

Richard Thompson & Band play The Belasco in Los Angeles, bringing the songs of the British rock singer-songwriter, active since 1967, to the stage on this visit to the city.

Richard Thompson is a British rock singer-songwriter born in London in 1949 and active since 1967. A founding guitarist of the folk-rock group Fairport Convention, Thompson later built a solo career and has released work on Island Records. The albums made with Linda Thompson, including Shoot Out the Lights (1982), document the duo's partnership, and Thompson's guitar playing is central to the songwriting.

The Belasco hosts concerts and shows in Los Angeles. This evening presents Thompson's songs with the Band under the name Richard Thompson & Band, in a program of pop, rock and indie material. It suits listeners who follow British rock songwriting and the lineage that runs from Fairport Convention to Thompson's solo work.
